Updates on Ukraine: Russia mandates nuclear readiness exercises.

Russia has declared military training using tactical nuclear weapons, the first time such maneuvers have been made public. This has left Ukraine in a panic. This action follows growing support for Ukraine from European politicians. Missile units in the southern military region and naval forces will take part in the exercise, which seeks to assess the preparedness of non-strategic nuclear assets to carry out combat tasks. This action is a reaction to remarks and threats made by Western leaders.

Given that Russia possesses the greatest nuclear weapons arsenal in the world, the drill is intended to protect its territorial integrity and sovereignty. Attacks by Russian drones have recently caused almost 400,000 people in Sumy to lose electricity and struck labor-carrying cars in Belgorod, resulting in six fatalities and thirty-five injuries.

China's Premier, Xi Jinping, is in France to meet with President Emmanuel Macron of France and President Ursula von der Leyen of the European Commission to discuss Ukraine. The defense minister of Italy has urged increased attempts to engage Russian President Vladimir Putin in diplomatic talks to put an end to the conflict in Ukraine.

How is the international community responding to this situation?

The growing crisis in Ukraine is being keenly observed by the international community, especially in view of Russia's latest declaration about nuclear readiness drills. In response to provocative threats from Western authorities, Russia has announced its plan to organize military drills that would involve training for the use of tactical nuclear weapons. For the first time, Russia has made public announcements about tactical nuclear weapons training. The purpose of the exercise is to evaluate non-strategic nuclear forces' ability to carry out combat objectives.

Recent events in Ukraine include a Russian drone strike that knocked off electricity for nearly 400,000 people in Sumy and an attack by a Ukrainian drone in Belgorod that left 35 people injured and six dead.
Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, and French President Emmanuel Macron are anticipated to address Ukraine during China's Premier, Xi Jinping,'s current visit to France.

The option of deploying soldiers to Ukraine has not been ruled out by French President Emmanuel Macron, while UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron said that Kyiv's military might utilize British long-range missiles to hit targets within Russia. The defense minister of Italy demanded that fresh attempts be made to engage Russian President Vladimir Putin in diplomatic talks aimed at putting an end to the conflict in Ukraine.
