Food packaging chemicals may cause breast cancer, experts.

London: Food items sold in cardboard or paper boxes may contain as many as 200 chemicals, any one of which can cause breast cancer, a new study has warned.

Researchers report in the journal Frontiers in Toxicology that there are 189 chemicals in commonly used food packaging materials that can potentially cause breast cancer.

These dangerous chemicals, including Pies, bisphenol and phthalates, can transfer from packaging to food and thus enter people, the researchers said.

Researcher Jane Mike said the study is important because it shows that large-scale measures must be taken to prevent human exposure to chemicals that cause breast cancer.

The managing director of the non-profit Food Packaging Forum said the potential to prevent cancer by reducing the exposure to hazardous chemicals in your daily life deserves a lot of attention.
