The number of people killed by storms and floods in six states of America has reached 223. Hundreds of people are missing. 


Due to the hurricane, the US state of North Carolina suffered the most destruction; the number of deaths in this state alone has reached 106; Buncombe has 72 deaths, while dozens of citizens have died in Florida. 


According to US MEDA, 700,000 people are still without power, 250,000 in storm-affected South Carolina, 200,000 in North Carolina, and 200,000 in Georgia.
