What happened during the 365 days, a whole year of war in Gaza?

Today marks one year since the beginning of the Gaza War on October 7, 2023.

The Gaza war that started on October 7th last year is already a year old, and now this war has spread from Gaza and Israel to Lebanon, while as a result of this war Israel has also attacked Iran, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen. It was attacked, and Israel was also attacked by these countries.

How did the Gaza war begin?

On October 7, Hamas fired 1,000 rockets into Israel and attacked Israeli settlements and soldiers in the occupied Palestinian territories, breaching the border fence and killing more than 1,000 Israelis. Hundreds of Israeli civilians and soldiers were taken hostage and sent to Gaza.

Israeli reaction and appalling Brutality.

To Justify the October 7 attacks, Israel began the heaviest aerial bombardment against civilians in Gaza the next day, as well as a ground operation a few days later that continues today. Last year, around 42,000 Palestinians were martyred in Israeli attacks, including 16,000 children and 11,000 women, while more than 100,000 Palestinians were injured.

Ceasefire attempts and failures.

After the start of the Gaza War, the United Nations and international powers made several attempts at a ceasefire, but all were in vain, and Israel did not agree to a permanent ceasefire without ending the existence of Hamas. A month after the war began in November 2023, both sides agreed to a 4-day ceasefire in the presence of international mediators, during which both sides exchanged prisoners, but fighting later resumed.

Later, several attempts were made for a cease-fire by the American president Joe Biden and other countries, and at some point Israel and Hamas agreed to the cease-fire proposals and the points presented by the President of the United States, but Israel withdraws, and the agreement is not reached because of the left—the permanent ceasefire.

How much has America helped Israel?

Al-Jazeera wrote in its report that the United States has given Israel $17 billion in military aid since October last year, which was used to keep Israel's defense system active, buy oil for ships, and other weapons. According to the sources, America has also provided intelligence to Iran to prevent and counter attacks by Hezbollah and Iran.

How is the Gaza War developing in Lebanon?

In the Gaza war that began in October last year, after continuous attacks on Gaza by Israel, Hezbollah launched attacks in northern Israel and began firing rockets in support of the Palestinians in Gaza, to which Israel responded. They also began bombing Lebanon's areas near the border, which left thousands of people from both countries homeless.

From the beginning of the war in Gaza last year until August this year, the fighting between Hezbollah and Israel has been somewhat intense, but after the killing of the top commander of Hezbollah, Fawad Shukar, in a strike of the Israeli army last August, the struggle took a new turn. Attacks from both sides increased and intensified over time.

In early September, Israel said it would return people to its northern areas under any circumstances and stop Hezbollah attacks. Israel also responded with rockets and missiles. Several top commanders, including the secretary general and head of Israel's Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, have been killed in Israeli attacks over the past month, while thousands of Lebanese citizens have been killed and millions have been displaced in the past month.

Iran and Israel face to face.

Israel accuses Iran of supporting Hamas and Hezbollah, and in the same way, Israel carried out an airstrike on the Iranian consulate building in Damascus, the capital of Syria, in April this year, after seven officials , including two top commanders, have been. killed they were killed, after Iran attacked Israel with about 300 rockets.

The martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh and the Iranian response.

Former Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was martyred in Tehran on July 31 while in Tehran to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Iran's new president, Masoud al-Mezkiyan.Israel has not officially accepted responsibility for the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, but Iran announced its retaliation, blaming Israel, and almost 2 months later, on October 1, Iran attacked Israel with 300 rockets and missiles . The attack was more aggressive and relatively well-armed than Iran's previous attack, which reportedly targeted and damaged Israeli military installations.

The future of the Gaza war.

A year after the start of the war, 2 million Palestinians in Gaza remain homeless, while nearly 2 million Israelis in northern Israel are homeless or under house arrest.Although Israel has dropped thousands of tons of bombs and carried out ground operations with thousands of troops in the past year, it has not been able to eradicate Hamas from Gaza and it still faces resistance in Gaza today. The Gaza war has spilled over into Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, with fears of further escalation following a possible Israeli response to Iranian attacks.
