Dozens of British MPs call for sanctions against Israel.

60 British MPs have called on Britain to    impose sanctions on Israel

According to the Wafa news agency, more than 60 British MPs sent a letter to British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, asking him to impose sanctions on Israel for “repeated violations of international law.” Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn was among the MPs who signed the letter, the agency said.

The letter cites the July advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which declared Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territory illegal and called for its immediate end.

The letter says that The Court also considered that all States, including the United Kingdom, have a responsibility not to recognize as legal the situation arising from Israel’s illegal presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and not to provide assistance or support to maintain it.

Wafa said that the parliamentarians are calling for sanctions against the British government and other measures to implement the ICJ ruling.
